What you need to know about her:

* Judi is the Associate Dean of Students and Coordinator of Women's Programs at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In her "spare" time, she teaches in the Christian Education division, specializing in women's ministry, girls' ministry, ministerial wellness, and recreation and sports ministry.

* While she loves the opportunity to work in the seminary setting, Judi also finds great fulfillment serving her great God in her local church, First Baptist New Orleans. At present, her ministry energies are focused on the Women's Enrichment Ministry and the University Department.

* Two scriptures that have shaped her life:
  •  John 10:10 "The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy; I have come that you might have life, life to the fullest!"
  •  Psalm 27:13 "I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."

What you might want to know about her:

* Judi graduated from LSU with a B.A. degree in Journalism (1981), and then followed that up at NOBTS with a Master of Religious Education (1984) as well as a Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Education (2005).

* Judi's spiritual gifts are administration and exhortation, which are expressed freely in her positions at both NOBTS and FBNO as she plans special events and challenges believers to strive to be the people God created them to be.

* Judi was born in New Orleans, loves living in New Orleans, but looks forward  to each opportunity she has to travel throughout the United States and internationally.  Most recently, she has traveled abroad to Greece, Israel, and Switzerland.

* Judi is married to THE Allen Jackson (since 1983), and together they have two children: Aaron (born in 1988) and Sarah (born in 1991), and a very sweet dog Noel (born in 2004). She treasures the years she was a stay-at-home mom while her kids were in school, volunteering with their organizations, sports teams, and other extracurricular opportunities.

What you probably don't care to know about her:

* Judi enjoys filling her time with running, bargains, writing, and spider solitaire.
  • As for running, she completed three marathons 'back in the day' (Atlanta, Boston, and New York) and is currently running for the health of it.
  • While she's not quite an extreme couponer, she does agree you should never pay retail!
  • Writing assignments are a welcome challenge to keep her mentally fresh and spiritually digging.
  • Doesn't everybody love spider solitaire and Words with Friends?
* Allen mentioned that parenting has not always been easy for us; we managed to raise two independent thinkers. However, in the process, God has taught us so much about Himself as our heavenly Father. He is indeed faithful to walk us through all that He allows in our lives.

* Judi collects Starbucks city mugs. It's her favorite souvenir to bring back from places she gets to visit. And, yes, she and Allen have a lot. How many? Hmmm, let's just say "more than 100!"
